Successful Fundraising

How do you maximize your fundraising sales? Well here are some helpful tips for you!

Focus on setting a personal challenge goal. Have sellers make a commitment to be their group or sub-group’s best salesperson. Guide their sales efforts to emphasize on achievement.

Ask the sellers to say their individual goals aloud. By publicly stating what you’ll accomplish to your peer group, you’ve reinforced the commitment. Who would want to say that they will fail aloud?

Compose a list of prospects. This should be done by all sellers before they begin. Look them over and make sure that each list has at least 10 prospects.

Define your best customers. These would include your friends, relatives, neighbours, and so on. Don’t forget co-workers and out-of-town contacts for your major fundraisers.

Rehearse the sales pitch. Everyone should practice the group’s sales pitch at home. Fine tune your two-sentence value proposition and make sure that every seller uses it. Be armed and dangerous

Be prepared. Sellers should make sure to have their orders forms and sales materials on hand wherever they go. You’ll never know when a good prospect will appear.

Introduce yourself with a smile. Constantly remind your sellers to smile and introduce themselves before delivering their sales pitch. When stating the group’s goal and the first request for help, use the word “need”. It’s a very powerful word. We need help because your band needs some new uniforms.

Ask for the prospect’s order. After saying the reason for the fundraising, make a direct request for an order. Can you assist us in reaching our goal?

Personalize. Ask your sellers to choose one or two items that they like and promote them. The green ones are really great.

Asking for additional business. After the initial order is placed, offer supplemental items for more revenue or ask for referrals, etc. Ask these questions; Can I show you another great program that we have available? Do you have someone else in mind who would extend his help?

Make it easy to buy. Do what you can to make buying easy. Offer to fill out the form yourself. Remind the prospect that a certain item makes a good gift or that it’s all for a good cause.

If you follow these tips, then you’ll surely have more success with your fundraising sales.
